Boutique horror festival · Sunshine Coast · Halloween weekend

Film Festival Meets
Theme Park Horror Night.

Films, fire, fog, sideshow performers, and a friendly mascot named Gary who hasn't worked out what kind of festival this is yet. One weekend a year, on the Queensland Sunshine Coast.

Here's What You Actually Do Here.

Watch Horror Movies.

Old classics, new bangers, weird stuff you can't see anywhere else. Programmed across the weekend in pavilions and 1920s cinema houses, after dark, under fog.

Watch People Do Dangerous Things.

Fire breathers. Sword swallowers. Contortionists. Dark cabaret. Slotted between the films so you're not picking — the live show is part of the schedule.

Eat, Drink, Get Spooked.

Carnival food, a properly stocked bar, costumed performers wandering, a sinister MC who is going to embarrass at least one volunteer on stage.

First up · October 2027

One Day in a Haunted 1920s Cinema.

Before the main festival lands in 2028, we're warming up with a pilot. One day, one venue, one screen, a marathon of horror at the Majestic Theatre Pomona — a 1920s cinema in the Sunshine Coast hinterland with a hand-cranked projector and a haunted-usher MC.

Year 1 of the main festival. The carnival come alive after dark — sideshow gone wrong, vintage fairground horror taking over Nambour Showgrounds for one weekend in the lead-up to Halloween night.
